- Fill out the ATF Form 4473 provided by UnderFire, LLC.
- You will be required to provide a valid government issued photo identification.
- UnderFire will submit your identifying information to the Firearm Purchase Program at FDLE.
- An analyst will perform the required queries and compare responses to your demographics (name, race, sex, date of birth, etc.) and determine your eligibility to purchase a firearm according to state and federal law.
- The analyst will provide a transaction number (queue number) and a decision (approve, non-approve, or decision pending).
There are ten categories of persons who are not eligible to purchase or possess a firearm under federal law (Title 18, United States Code 922(g)(1)-(9), (n)). They are:
Convicted of a felony (or equivalent)
- 1. Fugitive from justice
- 2. Unlawful user or addicted to a controlled substance
- 3. Adjudicated mentally defective or involuntarily committed to treatment
- 4. Illegal alien
- 5. Dishonorable discharge from the US Armed Forces
- 6. Renounced United States citizenship
- 7. Active protection order (restraining order, injunction for protection, etc.)
- 8. Convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence
- 9. Under indictment or information for a felony
